Lucien Freud becomes the worlds most expensive living artist.

Last week Lucien Freuds painting “Benefits supervisor sleeping” sold for 17.2 million at Christies. I am so glad that a painter has at last stolen this title from Damien Hurst, the sitter is Sue Tilley and she was one of Freuds models for 4 years. It is said that the Russian collector Roman Abramovich has added it to his collection alongside the Bacon triptych he bought for his girlfriend for 43 million.
